Oliver Butler is a cofounder of the new play company, The Debate Society, which he runs with Actor /Playwrights Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen. He is working with Australian theatre company, Stuck Pigs Squealing, to develop a new play written by Lally Katz and Mac Wellman. His New York directing credits include Untitled Intentional Exercise #1, The Snow Hen, A Thought About Raya, After, Seduced, Christmas with the Flamingos, Sold Out: The Rock Musical, Day of Reckoning, and Real Dramatic. In 2000, his production of This is Our Youth at the Berkshire Theatre Festival was voted "Best in the Berkshires" by the Berkshire Eagle. Other directing credits include The Einstein Project, Quills, and Mere Mortals. He assisted Jo Bonney on Neil Labute's Fat Pig, Pam MacKinnon on Bach at Leipzig by Itamar Moses, and Tony Award winner John Rando on Luigi Pirandello's Naked.
